This ceremonial solid wood Guerre mask is authentic African art, made available for sale by a private collector. Origins are Cote d'Ivoire, likely dating from the mid-1900s. For the serious collector of rare masks. This mask was not made for the tourist trade. Previous collector's number "159" visible in ink on reverse (interior) side of mask. Wire strung between holes on reverse side for display. Mask interior shows signs of wear, evidenced by small chips, dings, surface rubbing, and minor scratching.
