    Art of the Cameroon
    ,Tamara Northern, 1973 p. 56, figs 46 and 47.
the mask is surmounted by a spider motif dome.
There are cracks as seen in the wood, particular in the spider motif, and minor cracks in the face.
The wood is abraded in several spots on the spider motif, and at the back edge of the mask.
The wood is desiccated in areas of abrasion, indicating significant age.
The mask was purchased from Gotham Gallery in NYC in 2005.  The gallery indicated the provenance as Estate of Eugene Kingsley, ct.   See copy of gallery document in photos.  This comes with a custom stand.
