    ABOUT MASK
    Among the Suku of the southwestern part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, masks plays crucial role in protecting boys during initiation, the vulnerable period between boyhood and manhood. The power contained in Hemba masks may be directed against those who disrespect or attempt to harm the initiates, or it may be used to cure illness and promote prosperity. Often brightly colored and surmounted by animal figures, these masks depict past elders and lineage heads—people who command a great deal of respect and who make important decisions affecting the community.
    IMPERFECTIONS
    Please note these are traditional/old masks. Imperfections are to be expected such as dings, broken cowrie shells and minor cracks. We do our best to showcase the mask using as many photos as possible. Mask is in excellent condition.

    This mask comes with a stand so there is no worry about searching for a stand.
    SHIPPING AND RETURNS
    We require 3-5 days to process and package each order carefully. All shipping will be made via UPS or FedEx dependent on cost. Our return policy is strictly 30 days from the time you receive your order and confirmed as delivered. All returns are paid by the customer regardless of reason/cause. All returns must be in their original shipped condition.
