1971 Havasu Dollar #1 - London Bridge Commemorative Dollar

Description

This auction is for the first London Bridge Commemorative Dollar issued in October, 1971, by the London Bridge Rotary Club in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, also known as a Havasu Dollar.  It is 34 mm in diameter and has a nickel-silver finish.
Obv:  London Bridge spanning the man-made channel of the Colorado River, now known as Bridgewater Channel with the Mohave Mountains in the background "London Bridge/Lake Havasu City, Arizona"
Rev:  The reverse of the first issue is the only one of the series not to show the Rotary Emblem.  "London Bridge Rotary Club/Good for/.00/in Trade/at any cooperating business/Redeemable at the London/Bridge Rotary Club/until October 1, 1972"
